What is an E Cigarette?

An e cigarette is a device designed to replace your traditional cigarette.  They come from a variety of manufacturers. For the most part, how e cigarettes work is fairly consistent across brands.  Instead of generating secondhand smoke, which is a major reason smoking has been banned from many public venues, it simply produces a little puff of vapor.  This vapor is harmless to those around the smoker. This is the one thing that can take a little bit of getting used to for new e cigarette smokers. They have all the other elements you enjoy about smoking like the gesture of placing it to your lips and inhaling, or seeing the tip light up when you inhale (depending on the brand, the color your e cigarette tip may vary) and even seeing that little vapor puff come out.  Whether the e-cigarette is made of plastic or a metal it still rolls between your fingers in the exact same way the outdated cigarette does. E-cigarettes are typically put together the same way. They consist of a traditional body which is now a battery, an atomizer and where the filter would be is where the flavor cartridge is.  Flavor cartridges hold the liquid nicotine (also called e liquid or e juice) that the smoker inhales. They come in boxes just like your old fashioned pack does, but they don’t crush, which is nice.  The batteries are often rechargeable although disposable e cigarettes are available as well. You can get varying nicotine strengths (full flavor, medium, light, ultra light and even zero nicotine), but you can also get a wide variety of flavors including cherry, coffee, blueberry and even apple.
